Also known as FFA, frontal fibrosing alopecia is a form of scarring hair loss that primarily affects women, especially after menopause. It is believed to involve a combination of hormonal, genetic and auto immune factors, and only manifests at the front hairline; gradually receding as far back as the ear.
FFA is caused by an inflammation in the follicles that can cause permanent hair loss in that area of the scalp. Early treatment and diagnosis are essential in combatting this form of alopecia. Typically corticosteriod injections are recommended to stop it's progression, as well as anti-inlammatory oral medications.
Unfortunately, sometimes this condition does not receive treatment early enough in it's onset and hair replacement is required to gain that natural-looking hairline back. We offer solutions ranging from fully customized, made-to-spec systems as you see in the images below, or factory-made, customized in-salon for those suffering from this condition.
